Intention Setting & The New Moon

The Energy of the New Moon is a time of new beginnings. It is a time of fresh starts; A time to look at what improvements we want to make in our lives and a time of setting your intention for the next month.

Setting Intention Using the New Moon’s                             Energy

This is a time to create new goals. Knowing what you want, setting that intention is easier to do during this phase of the moon. Our connection to the Universe is heightened because of the alignment between the Sun and the New Moon. It creates powerful energy for spiritual connection. It’s a time of being clear in what we want and initiating action for it to manifest.Tweet: Discover how to Charness the energy of your intention w/ the #NewMoon Energy http://ctt.ec/aI0E7+ @laurapclark

Creating a simple, sincere, sacred ceremony using the New Moon’s Energy is the best way to set your intention into motion.

New Moon Ceremonies can be elaborate or simple. I always suggest simple. Our lives are busy enough. If you create a simple and yet SINCERE ceremony, the Universe will take that energy and use it to help manifest your intention over the next month. The first step in doing this is always connecting to your intentions. You can use Soul Journaling for this.

A Simple Intention Setting New Moon Ceremony can look like this: (I’ll use the picture above as a representation)

Use the time period of Each New Moon to Support Creating Your Intentions – discover what you want, set intentions and create a sacred and sincere ceremony to harness this powerful energy. Don’t forget to then take action. Keep at it. This intention will then become your reality!

What do you use for setting Intentions? Have you ever used the New Moon’s Energy for support? How has this felt to you?

  1. This seems like a great way to honor the new moon and connect to the energy. I really need to consider journaling more… I have yet to start! (Fear the commitment of another ‘practice’ that I don’t make time for!) thank you @Laura

  3. Oh, Laura! I love landing on your blogs at what feels EXACTLY the right time. I have been feeling the creative energy and the power of my intentions, but didn’t have the awareness of the new moon ceremony! I look forward to creating space to do this. As Kathleen shared, your energy is evident through this post. Thanks for sharing.

New Moons are beautiful aren’t they, Kelley! I always think of the moon winking at me during this time as if to say “You’ve Got This, Girl!”

  5. I love learning about these practices from you, Laura. They are jewels that combat the left brain thinking that dominated my life for years. And I love how you’ve laid out all the elements to perform the Intention Setting New Moon Ceremony. Thanks for making it simple and do-able.

  6. One more wonderful practice. I have started a notebook to keep up with all these and I will never look at the new moon the same. Hope you know how much richer my life is because of all you share. Have an amazing week!

  7. I used to be in rhythm with the moon phases, and would celebrate accordingly. I sometimes marvel at how much I’ve lost touch with this practice. I would love to reconnect, but feel as though I could use some specific guidance to help me deepen the experience. Even though I felt genuinely connected to the moon cycles in the past, I currently feel as though having some understanding of ancient traditions with the moon would facilitate better appreciation. Thanks for sharing this post.

Francis! Thanks for sharing… rhythms…the moon is a great tool to connect with to create these in our lives….just think of the tides ~ it’s the moon as a tool that allows them to stay in rhythm. Indeed, it is one of the tools I ask my clients to work with for resonance and rhythm in their own lives. I’ll look at lending more ideas about how to use it in the coming months in blog posts! Thanks!
