How To Embrace Your Own Inner Spirit (quickly during the busy holidays)

Tis the season!!!

Are you enjoying it like a kindergartner? Are you filled with anticipation, joy and laughter? Or are you finding yourself at the corners of Bah-humbug Street and Grinch Avenue? If you are, it’s time to embrace your own Inner Spirit. Your fuel tank is on low. To make it through the holidays with more Joy, it’s time to refuel.

Kindergartners refuel all the time so can you. They refuel by taking their afternoon naps and by following simple instructions to make life easy! Certainly naps are not possible for everyone on most days. But, following simple instructions is. Try something like:  Stop. Look & Listen.  To embrace your own inner spirit, you can easily do this too:

    Stop: Close your eyes and take a deep breath and focus on your intention of the season. 

    Look: into your own heart and hear it’s beat and feel the rhythm of your bodies systems.

    Listen: For the answer to this question: What is the next best step for me to take right now?

    Carry On: Move forward in alignment with the rhythms of your own body & soul  following the answer you received.

By doing this,  you are indeed finding a simple way to begin to embrace your Own Inner Spirit. Of course there are other ways and you might find them in this call. But, taking a moment to be still and connect with self for wisdom allows day to day chores, errands, activities, projects and parties to flow easily with great joy!  

Try it and see how it might help. Did it work? What other ways can you quickly slow down to find more joy?

I’m in the list making stage of gift shopping and I’m saying as I open catalogs…what is the next best present to appear? and lo and behold the gloves that my appeared on the next page! It works !     Yes, I don’t think I do this enough. Particularly at night time – my head is still buzzing with thoughts of the day..

    So I’m going to give this a go tonight, and really stop, look and listen, and trust that everything will be OK!

  7. Yes…..i’m not sure that would be good for kindergarteners though 😉 Mayhem might take place but then again, that’s what makes that age group so spectacular!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Kindergartners have this sewn up because they are always at play. How can we “play” more in every moment? More and more, I’m allowing myself to play at work. The dance of ideas and words on the page. Not taking it all so seriously. And instead of cookies and milk in the afternoons, raw almond butter with raw honey!

    Though, that Moose Munch my honey just brought into the house looks pretty good, too.

  10. Hi Laura! I pre-plan my week so that I get all of the important stuff accomplished and that important stuff includes taking care of my health and napping. As for holidays, although I love to cook, I am 34 weeks PG and am relinquishing control over the holiday meal. Presents? Kids only because it’s fun to shop for kids. Always focus on what makes you happy and let go of the rest – including the stress that can come with it. Thanks Laura! Janet

  12. Wish I could say I was like a kindergartner! One of the things I’ve come to know about myself is that I’ve lost my child-like sense of play. Take myself too seriously, I suppose. Have not lost my sense of wonder, though, thankfully.

    My way of replenishing myself is to take walks in the woods with my dogs but more often than not, I find myself sitting at my desk waaay too long. Need to make it a habit to get out in nature more often during the day.
