5 Simple Things To Do to Raise Your Mood

We all have ‘moods’ that can be challenging. And, sometimes, it’s really hard to get back your mojo! Here are 5 Simple Things to do to raise your mood:

Watch Your Mindset. Our words can lower our mood more than we realize. They can also elevate it just as quickly. Check in on what you are saying to yourself. See if there is a ‘theme’ of negativity and shift it. Focus on the things that are going well, that you are grateful for and that bring a smile to your face and talk to yourself about them in their full glory.

Watch Your Emotions. Our emotions do not define who we are. For example, when we are sad, we often say “I am sad” This is not true. You are who you are as a spiritual being. Your emotion that you are holding is sadness. You, yourself, are not sad. It’s a fine distinction that allows you to shift your mood instantly when you catch your emotion.

Create Positive Energy around you. When are moods need to be elevated, you may need to shift the energy around you. Clutter clearing quickly will do this. Calling a good friend (or exiting a bummer conversation). Lighting a candle and/or putting on good music will also support shifting your mood.

Do what makes you happy!
I’m not saying blow off all responsibility, here. But, don’t force yourself to do anything while your mood is low. Choose a different activity ~ if only for a short time ~ then take that energy into the task at hand.

Visit Your “I’m Making A Difference” Box ~ Everyone should have a box that has praise and accolades in it. And visit it at least once a week. More, when you need to raise your mood and gain self confidence in what you are doing!

Which of these things to raise your mood have you done before? What other tips do you have and which one of these will you try?

  1. I love #1-3 and they all work together for me. I’ve learned that when Im in a bad head space to ‘change the channel’ and get up to change my energy somehow. The mindset, mood, emotions and environment have everything to do with the shift. I love your suggestion of quick clutter-clearing too!

In working with one of my clients ~ to your analogy ~ we have her using one of her old TV Clickers to do just this ~ change the channel. She has embellished it with the mantra we’ve created for her heard from listening to her own inner truth!!! I love that analogy ~ change the channel!!!!

  2. Just love the idea of having a “I’m Making A Difference” Box. Agree having a place to collect praise and accolades could be up lifting. Once a week visits would be a great fall habit to add. Thanks.

  6. Powerful tips to shift our mood! In line with watching your mindset, I love the Abraham-Hicks stick analogy. Which end of the stick are you focusing on? At one end you have the negative mindset and at the other end the positive. This visual works wonders when I want to shift my focus and raise my mood. 🙂

Love that analogy….I have the 22 Abraham’s emotions on one of my wall and use it as a barometer sometimes…and works well too…shifting moods and raising vibrations is critical to hearing your own inner wisdom!!

  8. Decluttering and visiting an “I’m making a difference box” are now at the top of my list of ways to raise a mood. What I love most about these suggestions is how simple they are to remember and to implement when needed.
