How to Overcome Moody People including yourself!

Did you feel the Supermoon’s Pull last week? It had a hold on everyone that I encountered. People were so emotionally charged and moody. The moon ~ it’s all about emotional energy as it is a water element ~ can play havoc with our moods.

The tug the moon has on the ocean tides is known. The element of water is all about our emotional well~being. It’s no wonder that those people who have embraced their own emotional well~being enjoy the moon’s energy so very much. Those of us who struggle with facing their true feelings have such challenges at the time of a full moon. They are irritable, unable to sleep, moody and downright ugly! How do you then overcome moody people or your own moods?

The answer to how to overcome moody people is two-fold. The first way is to embrace your own true emotions. Know thyself. Allow yourself to feel and be compassionate to others as you do this. And, while you are feeling your emotions, know that they are not who you are.

The second way to overcome moody people is to embrace your own purpose. I had a challenging time over the weekend of the super moon to be honest with you. I knew I needed time unto myself~ I was indeed moody. (It’s that part of knowing yourself!) So, I spent some quiet time, allowed myself to nap and refresh and even watched a good old romance movie by myself and gave myself permission to have a good cry. But, How to overcome moody people does not stop there.

I overcame moody people (others AND myself!)  by taking  time and reconnecting with my purpose. I looked at my vision board ~ my soul coaching collage ~ and watched my mind movie. Then, I took all that powerful energy and harnessed it into a mind map of activity for the upcoming season and translated that onto a calendar. And, here I am ready and raring to go! Here’s the product of my way to overcome moody people and embrace the magnificence of the Full Super Moon Energy:

Mind~Map to Calendar to Inspiration by the computer.

You don’t have to wait for a Super moon to do this (thank heavens!) To Overcome Moody People first check in with your own emotions, own them but do not allow yourself to define you. Release and Let Go. Then, harness their power by rec0nnecting with your purpose and creating something grand! You, after all, are magnificent!

Thanks, Kelly! I like to show people that I am ‘real’ and practice what I preach. As for pictures, It’s easier for me to grab one from my life than it is to search the internet for that ‘prefect’ one ~ because that would create perfection paralysis. Oh YOU just wrote about that: http://www.yourtaskcomplete.com/how-perfection-holds-you-back/ and it too was awesome in it’s authenticness!

  4. I fourth the comments about your pictures – seeing how you’ve creatively expressed the ideas you’re sharing opens my mind to possibilities, too. And I have a hard time not letting other people’s moodiness infect my own mood and outlook. I’ll give your process a try.

  5. Isn’t Mind Mapping AWESOME??? Thanks for the pictures Laura – and the reminder to NOT FIGHT but GO WITH The FLOW! Things are ever changing and recognizing that and responding is the best way to get into FLOW.

Yes it is Cena! I love the process and I love having a secret sauce to go with it prior to getting in the zone ~ if you can’t get in the zone ~ all we do is fight things as you say! KEEP SMILING 🙂

  7. Hey, I don’t need no stinkin’ super moon to feel moody, that’s for sure. But I try not to inflict my moods on anyone… unless they are good moods! And I know what to do. Sit my ass down and hook up to That Which Is Bigger Than This Moody Diva… and remember, I can choose my thoughts and my moods.

Just like you when you turned your focus to your vision board, you chose to think about that which turned you on and felt good. But first, you let yourself have your mood so it could move on. And this is key. Have what you’re having (moodiness), then choose what you want, knowing you have the power to focus your attention and energy.

Amen to this, Nancy! You have to acknowledge what you are having for in that you can see you indeed have the power to shift. If we can’t acknowledge the good, the bad and the ugly, then we can’t acknowledge the best, the better and bestest!

  8. Thanks for sharing your own personal journey in this one! It helps me get creative with ideas for myself! I’ve GOT to get around to doing a new visioning board!!!!!

I had set aside time, Alyssa, to do one last month as well as revise my mind movie. But, after sitting very still, discovered that my vision board is still very right on for me. While I’ve moved forward and am actualizing things on these boards, I’m so enjoying the journey that it is best to keep them. I’ll check in again in the late summer! Let me know if I can support you in any way 🙂
