F is for Faith

The Soul-Wise Living Alphabet

Inspired April 2013

The Soul-Wise Living Alphabet is launched to Awaken Your Spirit & empower your thinking. Words are Energy! They can lift us up and they can just as easily bring us down. Spirit driven words will raise your vibration UP. By finding the meaning these words have in your life and embracing them, one at a time each day ~ after the course of a month, The Soul-Wise Living Alphabet will have raised your energy up. My desire for you is that you are able to embrace your inner spirit  and, as a result, live In-Joy. ~ laura

F is for Faith.

Faith in oneself is an essential ingredient to living soul-wise. It is the opposite of self-doubt. When you have this undeniable belief that things WILL BE and that all is as it should be, faith comes easily and effortlessly. When you set intentions based upon your desires and your purpose, you will automatically be following a path that will allow you to reach the goals you set for yourself. Taking the steps on that path is based on Faith. It’s based on the belief that you know, from within your own inner wisdom, that the decisions you make and the actions you take will create the highest good for all.

Faith in the Universe is about knowing that you may make mis-takes, that you will learn from them, you will have successes and that you will achieve. Faith is about trusting that you are exactly where you need to be right now and having inner-peace that the outcome will be.

Faith is what you have when you set your self up for success and know that you are divinely guided through each step. It’s the ability to ‘give up’ on the outcome once you have created the desire for something from deep within. You must have faith in oneself and faith in the Universe that what you desire to manifest will be. It’s an essential ingredient to manifestation and to living with inner peace and “IN-joy’

Do you have faith in yourself right now? What do you do when your faith is dimmed to renew it?

  2. Laura – question – what is the difference between faith in yourself and self confidence?

    [Reply]

    Laura Clark Reply:

That’s a good Question, Jonathan! For me faith is inspired by the spirit….that guidance system we have deep inside of us that we can get through challenges~ seen and unseen approached before and new…. Confidence is created by our thinking that we can do it based on past experiences. Ex: I have faith in myself that I can run a 9k in a month because it’s inspired deep within. I’m not sure I have the confidence because I’ve never done one and my ‘ego’ keeps telling me “what the hell do you think you are doing” Does that help? 🙂

  4. You describe my perspective exactly. I hadn’t thought of it as faith, but I see now that’s what it is. I believe I continually learn important lessons, even at 71 years. I’m reading this from the UBC, where I’ve linked to. I’m also doing the A – Z Challenge, which you can see at:

🙂 I was talking with a girlfriend the other day about perspectives at different decades of our lives. I said “I knew so much at 20 and here I am at 50 still learning and tweaking my beliefs…I wonder what new exciting things I’ll be seeing when I’m 80” Isn’t it exciting?!

  5. I like your explanation to the comment above re: confidence vs. faith. One thing I am grateful for is being able to have faith in myself. It has helped so much in difficult times.

Thanks Carolina! When Jonathan posed the Q, I took pause, sat with it for a moment and asked myself “What is the difference?” The answer came pretty quickly 🙂

  6. I used to be a doubting Thomas, but faith is now the cornerstone of my life, both in God and through him, in myself.

  7. What a great post. I love this: “Faith is what you have when you set your self up for success and know that you are divinely guided through each step. It’s the ability to ‘give up’ on the outcome.”

That’s been my focus lately: doing my work & letting go of the outcome. It’s a little mantra I tell myself every day: do your work & let go, do your work & let go.

I wrote a post about faith last week actually. It’s here if you’re interested: http://shellijohnson.com/2013/03/one-wild-life-choose-faith-not-fear/

So glad we met via UBC. Cheers!

I’ll check out your post Shelli and thanks for commenting here. It really is about giving up the outcome. From the practical persepctive, As I answered Jonathon’s Q, I really have given up on the outcome of my 9k run and by doing that the faith is easily received!! 🙂

  8. As I read your post, these thoughts came to me. When we lack faith, we suffer from self doubt and lack of trust. With faith, we trust that things will come out with the best result for us, even if the results aren’t what we had wanted or planned on. Oh my … isn’t that what having no attachment is about? So,there is no way we can possibly ever make a mistake! I think I just had a light bulb moment. Thank you!

Love Light~Bulb Moments!!! (I wrote about BFO in one of my muses ~ blinding flash of the obvious 😉 Trust in self comes from deep seeded faith. and to have that we really do need to give up our attachments!

  9. Great post thank you and the comments are enlightening too .. Doubt is certainly the shadow side of faith, and many of need to go through this before our faith is strengthened.

True, Susan. And to your point, sometimes doubt comes in different shapes & sizes as well as at different times. It’s when we have learned to recognize it quickly, that faith can be restored with ease and grace. 🙂
