B is for Beliefs

The Soul-Wise Living Alphabet

Inspired April 2013

The Soul-Wise Living Alphabet is launched to Awaken Your Spirit & empower your thinking. Words are Energy! They can lift us up and they can just as easily bring us down. Spirit driven words will raise your vibration UP. By finding the meaning these words have in your life and embracing them, one at a time each day ~ after the course of a month, The Soul-Wise Living Alphabet will have raised your energy up. My desire for you is that you are able to embrace your inner spirit  and, as a result, live In-Joy. ~ laura

B is for Beliefs.

What beliefs do you have? Deep within, you  have embedded feelings and thoughts as to what you believe about something. It may be so ingrained that you do not even realize that you ‘own’ this belief. And, yet, with every decision you make and every action that you take, that belief is there.

Take making a speech as an example of how you have embedded a belief. You may love to make them and have no inhibitions because the first time you did, it was widely accepted and received and so you bound forward with the belief that you have a gift to speak to audiences. Many people do not feel this way. You may have been nervous and shy the first time you gave a talk and perhaps it was not well received. You stammered and were flustered. If you did not address that and understand the WHY you felt that way, you may have ingrained in you that I can not talk in front of audiences. And, so now when it’s time to make an address, you get all nervous and feel less than adequate in your ability to keep people engaged. That is an embedded belief.

What beliefs do you have? Are those beliefs accurate? No doubt, the first time any of us gave a presentation we were nervous for so very many reasons, but that does not mean that we can not make great presentations now with the correct planning and preparation. So, to step forward into living “In-Joy”, beliefs need to be identified, verified for accuracy and shifted if necessary. This will allow our decisions to be  based upon our inner-wisdom not  upon beliefs that no longer suit us. Our actions will be taken with strong courage and conviction.

What impact might one of your beliefs have on your life right now? Is that belief accurate or does it no longer suit you? How might shifting or changing that belief affect you?

  2. It always amazes me how our beliefs can be lurking within. I have done a lot of personal work on mindset, shifting beliefs etc. Recently I was doing some meditation work around earning money and a belief surfaced that wasn’t even in my consciousness. So sometimes it takes a lot of digging to find them before you can even start to shift them.

Dot, thanks for your thoughts. It most certainly does take some digging ~ and once you’ve found the treasure (a positive belief) gold will happen. Other times, you can find gunk & sludge, and then some spring clean up is required to make those shifts. A lot of people have major subconscious beliefs around money ~ it’s fascinating!

  3. The hard part is identifying those negative beliefs. Best focus on the positive ones. Dropping by from UBC.

It is hard to focus on negative beliefs. True ~ many of them are buried in our subconscious and work on them because makes you feel vulnerable. However, if you want to move toward a more fulfilling life and these beliefs are guiding your choices and decisions and you are getting the same old results, it’s imperative to take the time to identify them, spring-clean them and move forward. Yes, focusing on the positive one’s will help but improvement of self, like Marianne Williamson knows, sometimes requires taking a look at the dark shadow, embracing and letting it go!

  5. I have realized the hard way sometimes, that what we become what we believe and get what we manifest. The power of our beliefs is truly strong.

  6. “Words have energy.” Love this! Can’t wait to read the rest of your series! Connected with you socially and signed up for your newsletter! I run into people who believe some of the most negative things and they don’t even realize the horrible energy it brings into their life and pours out on others! Then they wonder why they get stuck behind some invisible wall. (I am blogging on beliefs later this month!) Really blessed by your post today!

  8. It is interesting how I couldn’t necessarily tell you what I believe right on the spot, but you have helped put into words how our actions just show it!

    Laura Clark Reply:

Actions do show our beliefs, Andrea. It’s part of human nature. The key, then, is to be able to understand how they dictate our actions and how, with this understanding, we can then shift, tweak or change them to make the best choices best on our own inner knowledge vs. that of society or partents or teachers or …. Sounds like a better way, doesn’t it?
