4 Ways to Refocus and Rebalance Yourself

I’m often asked “How do I re~balance or recenter or refocus myself?” And, my answer is always “That depends. Tell me more” We may feel off kilter and need to rebalance mentally, emotionally,  spiritually or physically. And, sometimes, we need to rebalance in a few ways. So, my answer will depend.  But, when I am asked this. I always suggest looking to one of the 4 elements for support. Focusing on the Air, Water, Fire and Earth elements allows you to clear away any blockage you have, connect with your inner wisdom and move out of imbalance into a place of peace and productivity.

Why Use the 4 elements to Refocus and Rebalance? Each of these represent a component of YOU. By tapping into the element that is associated with a blockage you are able to acknowledge it and release it. This will help you to refocus and rebalance your efforts. So, how do you do this? You need to find the source of the imbalance. Ask yourself these questions and if you get a “YES” follow the suggestion:

4 elements.2

Am I having a hard time mentally focusing?

~Connect with the Spirit of Air. Open the window and take a deep breath of fresh air to refocus.

Am I having a difficult time emotionally?

~ Connect with the Spirit of Water.  To calm down emotionally that I know of is to wash your face with cool refreshing water.

Am I questioning myself on a deeper level?  (ie am I going in the ‘right’ direction?)

~Connect with the Spirit of Fire. Light a candle, embrace it’s energy to connect with your wisdom.

Am I out of synch physically?

~Connect with the Spirit of Earth. Hold a rock, feel it’s strength and allow it to ground you.   These are 4 Ways to Quickly & Easily Refocus and Rebalance to move forward when you feel like you are off-kilter. Try them the next time and let me know how it works! What ways have you connected with the 4 elements to refocus and rebalance in your life?

  1. This is great, Laura. I have been doing a similar thing with the chakras, but adding in the elements is great too. I write about the Tao Te Ching and the Chinese Medicine system is based on the elements. It was fun to discover your blog through the UBC.

🙂 Glad you found it too. In my other business, I use a reflexology system that is based on Chinese acupuncture and so everything naturally flows together, no?!KEEP SMILILNG

You are welcome, Astrid. Nature has always offered me much peace and her wisdom and support to guide me forward. Do you have one particular part of nature that you connect with more?

  6. That was uncanny, Laura. As soon as I started reading, I felt the urge to get up and light the candle that always sits on my desk. And I’d just been journaling before this about my intentions for the year and how excited (and a little bit daunted) I feel around them. I’m going to print this out so I can attend to the other connections as the need arises. Thanks so much for your helpful words.
